1. DOUBLE INSULATED TEMPERED GLASS - Glass has been the clear choice of glazing materials in windows over any other. Tempered glass will not scratch easily as other glazing materials, and glass does not fade or yellow. Our standard is Bronze, however, you may choose Clear, Smoke (gray), Solar reflective, or Laminated (for hurricane areas).
2. SELF FLASHING - One piece welded curb and flashing for ease of installation. Heaviest flashing in the industry (4½") because this is the only point where water can enter. Aluminum will not crack from weathering and may be sealed with any type sealer, not just silicone.
3. WEEP HOLES - The lower two corners have weep holes to allow moisture to exit the skylight back to the outside. Our standard placement is on the narrow dimension, however, you may request that the weep holes be placed on the long dimension for horizontal mounting.
4. CONDENSATION GUTTER - Traps any moisture that forms on the glass or water that might enter from between the glass and curb and carries it to the weep holes back to the outside. Please request the weep holes on the long dimension for horizontal mounting.
5. EASE OF INSTALLATION - The S.I.G. Skylight is designed for ease of installation for the pro or the Do-It-Yourselfer. Due to its 4½" self-flashing design, all that is required is to remove some shingles, cut the opening, seal around the opening under the flashing and on top, screw it down and replace the shingles. All skylights are pre-assembled at the factory, all you do is install and enjoy. For low pitched roofs, we recommend the use of self adhesive rubber flashing material on the sides and top of our curb flange.
6. NOTHING ELSE TO BUY - No curbs to buy. No flashing kits to buy because it has a curb flange of 4½". The operable skylight even includes an insect screen already installed.
7. GUARANTEED - All S.I.G. Skylight frames carry an unlimited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The glazing units carry a 5 year warranty. Liability of manufacturer under this guarantee shall not exceed supplying another skylight of similar size, type and color.
